We have been awarded a National Lottery Grant

We are proud to announce that the Repair Cafe has been awarded a National Lottery Grant for the year 2024.

The grant gives us the opportunity to purchase equipment to check the electrical safety of equipment that we have repaired.

It’s concept similar to an MOT test, in that we can guarantee the electrical safety on the day of the test.

The grant also allows us to pursue our ambition to run fully funded repair workshops in local schools to teach sewing skills and to enable young people to troubleshoot and repair their own broken items.

An example a workshop is for children to create bird boxes using precut wood offcuts, paint the boxes and take them home to set up in their own gardens. We are open other suggestions.

We would also like to take on apprentices to work alongside side more experienced repairers and learn troubleshooting and repair skills.

Please get in touch with Billie at billie@spencerswoodrepaircafe.co.uk if you are interested in Spencers Wood Repair Cafe running workshops for your school or joining us as an apprentice.

We fix is broken household items for free, but we gratefully accept donations as the grant is only for this year and we want to secure the future of the Repair Cafe.
Our sessions are on the 3rd Sunday of the Month at Lambs Lane Primary School from 10 am to 1pm.

Spencers Wood Repair Cafe was started in May 2022. We run every third Sunday of the month. As we have grown we have needed more space and are now located at Lambs Lane Primary School. Spencers Wood Repair Cafe is a friendly and welcoming Repair Cafe and new volunteers to help with registration, run the cafe and to fix items are always welcome. We look forward to welcoming you with your broken household items.
